P-Day

Hello all!
First, Marissa before I forget. It automatically has this background, think I just changed it. Lemme know yo! Ok bro! Thanks!
Thanks Mom for the vaccinations info. Hopefully they'll accept it. Just needed to make sure I got both. All taken care of. Enough of that trash. Some OLD ladies working in that place. Stubborn but Sweet Spirits. True daughters of God. Love 'em.
Basically. Another week has gone. All is well in Israel. Love you. Call if anything serious happens. I will too. Alright. Until next week. Bye. Love you. :) -Elder Schroedter.

Just kidding, I guess I will talk a little bit about my week and everything and what not. What the heck? Why not!
Last week ended well. Fridays and Saturdays are long each week. A lot of time in the classroom and teaching by the teachers.
Sunday was great. Loved the Fast and Testimony Meeting. Perhaps the best one of my life honestly. No joke. Felt the Spirit so much and it was great with the new District getting up there and bearing their testimonies and a couple from our District. My comp, DL, and Elder James I think. It truly was the strongest I think I have ever felt the Spirit. Equal to the temple.
I think you may miss the Fast Sunday here Marissa but that's ok. I am constantly thinking where I am goign to hide each of your letterSSSS. Multiple ones. and For Grant!!! You too. ANd Caleb too. Why not? And Mom and Dad for a few years from now. ;) I know it.
Sunday fireside was great. The guy was really funny. I forget his position in the MTC but he was a great public speaker and really had the crowd. He gave a great talk, no question. Loved it.
Then after that I watched the CES video with Holland talking about Teaching, ON teaching or soemthing. It wasn't the usual Holland talk but it was still good. It was definitely for more CES teachers. Oh well. ANd also this morning there was a 2 hour mission conference where District Presidency members and MTC presidency members. They all gave really great talks and I cannot wait for General COnference. It definitely didn't feel like 2 hours at all!
Monday was a bitter sweet farewell to the other Romanian district. Elder Farr, and Kebkar and Sora Mullen. I loved them all and hopefully I'll be seeing them pretty soon here in nearly a month!
September is over and when October is done, I'll be gone before I know it! Can't wait to get out there. But I just forget about it, lose myself. It's kinda like lifeguarding, you can't count down the hours, days, or minutes ever or else it will never come. Time is a very funny thing and we control in a way how fast it goes each day and week.
In my journal I stopped numbering the days because it really didn't help and also I forgot! I love writing in my journal at night! Can't wait to share it with all of you and also with myself looking back at it in a couple years.
Tuesday devotional was so so so great. Presidency of the 70. Elder L. Whitney Clayton I believe. Gave a wonderful talk. His wife talked about Listening to (1) companions (2) investigators and (3) the Spirit. Really good notes.
He talked about Daniel 2:44-45. Stone cut out of the mountain. It is just the beginning. We know the ending conclusion but we have to work to get there. The Standard of Truth. Every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. Time will tell! It was great. Keeping the right perspective!!!!! I loved when he went through Hinckley's talks from 99 up to 07. 11 million and now 2010 14 million members!!! IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING!
Gym has been great. Played volleyball the last few times and as a district it truly has been a lot of fun. I honestly do not get too competitive at all. I have learned to control myself and just play for fun. I want to have fun and I do!
Last Wednesday ASL district came in. I just learned in the whole MTC district we get alll the ASL peeps, Romanians, and couple English districts. The temple was so cool today. Had the ASL screens (2 of em) for Elder Mercey who is totally deaf and doesnt ahve any implants. It was really cool. And last SUnday, his testimony when he signed it was probably my favorite. The temple was a neat experience with him being there.
Language: more grammar principle and what not. how to say school supplies, church stuff, colors, subjunctive, accusative, adjective stressers, school work week, adj demonstrative, reflexive, ca sa principle, saying a need, and dative forms. WHEW!!!! lots to remember!!!!
Thank you all for the letters, Grandpa Schroedter, Grandma Ross, Ashley, Amma, Mom, Dad, Jeanna, Taryn and packages: Kristi and Gar and Taryn. THANKS SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Time is running out and I could talk forever. Wednesday dinners are the worst with all the missionaries but I enjoy it. Got to talk with Paul Hazelbarth a couple times and it was great. I love you all so so much. I miss you. I'll see you in two. Two easy I say.
DearElder me. Short e-mails. Letters accepted. Packages are alright too. :):):):):):)
Bought a Romanian hymnbook today. ANd getting my name embozed in it. Love you.
I LOVE YOU.
Love,
Elder Taylor L Schroedter

Week 2 and a Day!

Hello Everyone!!!
I love you and wish I had more than stinkin 30 minutes to type everything I want to say to all of you but unfortunately I don't get that much time. And please excuse all my mistakes. Please don't write long e-mails because I can't read them all. Only glance. Dad, the prophet was great. Marissa, good job. Mom, you too. I wish I had more time. Why do these years fly by??!!?!? Sheesh. IT was a great week since I last e-mailed. Excited to get out of this "prison" not really and get to start the real work out there.
Some of the meetings don't quite have the right message about why we are doing this. I remember Monday in a LGM, large group meeting. The speaker talked about how we are trying to "sell" baptism. He quoted how Pres. Hinckley said we should double our numbers from 300,000 to 600,000. Whew! My mind is always racing as you know. I think too much!
We want others to be happy, but we can't make others accept it. They have to choose it. We already know they chose it in the pre-existence, but sometimes they don't know they have chosen it before. The forgot when they came into this world. We have to remind them that they have chosen the truth.
With time. Time will tell. Take your time.
Rest of my P-day went excellent. Too many letters to reply to. Marissa. Mom. Dad. Shelby. Caleb. Laurel. Belinda. Freeze's. Snow's. AND ALSOOO!!!!!!!!
Greg's address. Please ask them what their address is. I got a "return to sender!!!!" eeekkkkkk. that came today.
Friday was great. I just learned more about the language. It's not easy. It's getting really hard.
past present and future tense.
subjunctive. accusative. possession. definization. pluralization.
it doesnt have like a word for "the" so it just depends.
feminine or masculine, or singular and plural. lots of combonations.
The English language is WAYYYY harder though.
My teachers- Miles and Irion are great. I love them!
Saturday was good as well. nothing really to report.
Sunday seems really slow but that's ok. I kick myself for the fact that I could have been singing int he Priesthood session this conference but I am not sure i would have made it because I really dont have that much experience compared to a lot of other guys here.
It's alright....SOMEDAY....me and Sam will play the organ for a session of conference and I might get the chance to translate.
You can hear recording of two of the taechers here on www.lds.org
One is mine. Frate Irion. and another Sora Petrisor! Aweosme. And Jepsen and Miles are doing this session. Watched the movie The Testaments and I loved it.
So Monday, we had that LGM, a stake president in the valley, not sure where. Beginning was kinda like a sales pitch but later on it was a lot better. Everything I have been studying has been referring to MY PURPOSE!! It is to INVITE others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through Faith, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. That last part is the most important and will determine our reward in heaven.
Also I taught with my Elder Mikolyski in the TRC. It was a really great experience. Taught one of my teacher's old companion in Romania. It was really great. and i could feel the Spirit. Said some things I wasn't sure if I should have but tried to teach with the Spirit. ONE of my top goals this week.
Tuesday was good. Devotional was from the Elder Paul V. Johnson, from the 1st quorum of the 70. Gave a great talk. He gave lots of scriptural references. We learn things and taech things about the spirit by HAVING the spirit. His wife also gave a great talk about having the great attitude while we are on our missions. Something I perhaps need to work on.
Wednesday. Just learned and studied more. Taught Frate Miles (Frate = brother; sora = sister; elder = elder) the first lesson. we were rushed but said everything that we wanted to. Then later that day we taught Frate Middleton the 2nd lesson. Plan of Salvation and I thought it went well. I didn't say much but I tried to ask good questions as I would a normal investigator and try to act like it was the real thing.
Thursday. The temple was great. loved it. 5th time. still not memorized. love the Spirit there and it is my favorite part of my week. Truly it is.
I really love to see the temple. :)
Some things I wanted to say. Mom no need for the 4 pack books. Not worth the trouble really and I'll live with out the cookie-cutter missionary pack everyone else has.
Gym has been really fun. Everyday but Sunday and P-Day. Been playing 4-Square. They kicked us off of 9-Square. I still would play it but other missionaries are more obedient. Eh....
THAT is crazy what the Stake President said about me in Ward Conference. I still can't believe it. Very humble right now.
Sorry if I wasn't too specific. Slowest typer in the world right here!
I love you.

A taste of FREEDOM

Hello Everyone!!!!!!

Finally I get a P-Day. It's Thursdays, but since it was our first week last Thursday we didn't need or even get a Preparation Day. I guess we didn't need one but I still wanted ONE!!!! Oh well. I'll get over it in a couple of years. Too easy.
How the heck are you guys?!?! So the best way to say hello which you should everyday is DearElder. Because I will only check this once a week and usually just send out a mass e-mail. Please forward this to ALL our family and friends. Por favor. Shoot!! I don't even know how to say Please in Romania. Probably something similar to S'il vous plait. Ne-u stiu = I don't know! I love the Romanian language. In some ways it makes so much more sense than English yet it is also so much more difficult! I love it. Learning everyday. I can pray now without looking at my notes. Can bear my testimony. Introduce and tell about my family. Including Josh and Aubrey. Cousins. Grandparents. Parents. Siblings. Age. Likes. Dislikes. Basics basically. Today was most excellent. We go to the temple every Thursday morning now. Can't tell you the time, because I know you will fly up and see me. Sorry. If I told you it was at 7 o clock I would have to kill you probably.

Just kidding. The temple was great. My fourth time, a name for a German born in 1822 if you wanted to know :)

Wednesday getting here. Everything was so overwhelming!!!! Got here, my host helps me and come to find out he is going Spanish Speaking and now I see him all the time because his class is right next to ours. Our class where we will spend more time than sleeping!
Our class is 18M 4th floor. I love the floors here because it's like the rest of the world! The 1st floor is the first floor, whether it be the basement or ground level floor. Anyways, stupid Americans. It's okay though. Class is great. I love my teachers. Brother MIles and Brother Irion. Both went to Romania obviously and I love all of their stories they tell. Makes me so excited to go! The food sounds so much better than the U.S. and what it have to offers but we will see once I get out there. 8 more weeks.....in paradise? hehe I hated it the first week! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Today I have really started liking it and I am not just saying that. Tuesday we had a great Devotional from Sister Richards and Brother Bryan H. Richards I think it was and he talked about his experiences in England as a mission president. And there was one thing he said that we will never have this chance probably again. To be in the same area as so many Elders and Sisters that are 100% set apart to serving the Lord and dedicated to Him. Something about that really struck a chord with me and ever since I have loved it.

Every Monday we go the TRC, forget what it stands for but it is where we teach a certain "type" of investigator. This week and the next 3 in English and then the last 4...IN ROMANIANNN!!!!!!!! AHHAAHHHHHHHHHH. I got this though. Remember what I say. Too easy. Too Too easy. (p.s. this is marissa. TRC= teaching resource center)

So yeah Wednesday was great. Got the orange dot on our tags. Class. Had meeting with all 507 new missionaries. Which included Dave Noren, Ethan Todd, Joel from BYU frisbee, Clark Blackham from dorm, and David McDougal - dorm and bball intramural team. Learned greetings in Romanian. Food....eh, similar to Cannon Center, but Cannon trumps the MTC. No contest there.

Going to bed, I fell asleep like that! Hard waking up so early, different for me! Meals were all okay. In the classroom, just being taught basic things in Romanian. Learned how to pray. We had a Branch Presidency Meeting. District Leader called...Elder Nimroe from Hawaii/Utah. He is a great guy. Perfect for the job. Falling asleep Thursday night was a little harder. But i got the job done. Friday I cannot even remember. Didn't really write much in the journal. Nothing special. Saturday was maybe the hardest day. Felt like I have been here for about 4 months. That's probably a good guess. I don't know. I was never going to leave for home. Never a thought. But I just wanted to leave the MTC. sheesh! Just too much. Overwhelming. I don't know. Really didn't like it. Sunday, it was okay. Priesthood. Study time. Then Sacrament. Really great talks. Elder Green. Elder Getty. and Elder Trepnell. 2nd counselor branch presidency. Monday was good. Tuesday was THE BEST!!!!! Wednesday great as well. Thursday. Excellent!

Our zone is basically our floor or elders, a little less I think. The district before us has 3 missionaries, all really great: Elder Farr, Elder Kepkar, and Sora Mullen.

In our district there are 12 of us. All who came in last Wednesday.

Me and Elder Mikolyski - from L.A. Good kid. Home schooled. Has a 22 year old girl friend. Lives like 3 minutes away. Went to Idaho but now going to Provo BYU. He is the 8th of 9 kids. Dad was Catholic. Converted 7 years ago. Now a Bishop! He lives a little north of L.A. I think and we get along really great.

Elder Nimroe - from Hawaii/Utah and Elder Ransom - from Montana, Great Falls

Elder Green - from Friscoe, Texas and Elder Nillson - from Utah, Sandy I think. (They are our room buddies.)

Elder Fonnesbeck - from Oakland, CA and Elder Lee, from Redlands, CA

Elder Durand from South Jordan and Elder Nelson from Friscoe, Texas

and Elder James from Riverton adn Elder Pettit from Missouri.

In our zone we have ASL, Romanian, and English. Got a group of about 10 guys heading down to Houston South mission pretty soon.

I love you guys so much. Hope you all are doing great. And the best way if you would like, I would love if you DearElder'ed me. People kinda poke fun at me getting all the mail. Which I have to keep up the name and tradition. I am counting of you guys. hehe. Love you so much.

Scripture: D&C 4:1-7 Never gets old to me. Got it memorized.

Love you.

Love,

Elder Taylor L Schroedter

Te iubesc.

SAFE AND SOUND

Hey Mom and Dad,
Just wanted to send a quick e-mail to you guys. Third day and about to start classes. Slept great the first night and woke up a couple times this morning. Yesterday we had a great Branch Presidency meeting and I love the counselors too. There are 12 in our district, all going to Romania. We got up and bore our testimony and told a little about ourselves. I will write more in the next e-mail. Don't have a lot of time. I love you guys. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. Really enjoyed the e-mail from you and Marissa, package from Marissa, and the treats from Greg and Lisa, an e-mail from Taryn, and a letter from Rachael. Whew! Lots of mail and I felt bad the temporary District Leader yesterday calling my name out while others got nothing. New District Leader, felt like it might be me, but as the meeting went on I could tell it would be the guy next to me, Elder Newroe. My companion is great Elder Mikolyski. Love you guys. Hope you are doing well.
Love,
Elder Schroedter
